A recipe bakes in a 9×9 pan (81 in²) for 30 minutes. You switch to a 9×13 pan (117 in²):
- Batter is shallower: 81 ÷ 117 ≈ 0.69 of the original depth.
- Estimated time ≈ 30 × 0.69 ≈ 21 minutes.
- At 5,000 ft altitude, add roughly 15% → ≈ 24 minutes.
