How do I find my car's L/100km?
Divide liters filled at the pump by kilometers driven since the last fill, then multiply by 100.
Is the CO2 estimate accurate?
It's a good average using ~2.31 kg CO2 per liter of petrol. Diesels emit a bit more per liter; EVs emit none directly.
What if fuel economy is in mpg?
Convert it first with the Fuel Economy Converter — 282.5 ÷ mpg(US) gives L/100km.
Does it include tolls or parking?
No — this covers fuel only. Add tolls and other costs separately to your budget.

A 300 km trip at 7.5 L/100km with fuel at $1.50 per liter uses (300 / 100) x 7.5 = 22.5 liters, costing 22.5 x $1.50 = $33.75. Split three ways that is $11.25 per person, and the trip produces about 22.5 x 2.31 ≈ 52 kg of CO2.
