This tool follows the standard formal convention: "two thousand" without "and" between thousands and hundreds. Usage varies by region.
How are decimals handled?
In plain mode the decimal part is read digit by digit after "point". In currency mode it becomes cents — 12.5 → "twelve dollars and fifty cents".
What is the largest supported number?
Up to 999,999,999,999,999 (999 trillion) — beyond that the tool returns an error message.
Is "billion" US or UK billion?
US billion (1,000,000,000) is used, which is also the standard in most international contexts.
